Complete the Supply Chain
Clothing isn’t born in factories. It begins as raw material. At Thread, that raw material is sourced by real people in what we call the “First Mile” of the supply chain who earn a dignified income by collecting plastic bottles from the streets, landfills, and canals surrounding them.
Flake → Yarn → Fabric
Collected bottles are washed and ground up into tiny pieces of “flake.” The flake goes through a number of processing steps, depending on the finished product, to be spun into yarn and knit or woven into fabric.
