Jenna’s Thread journey was serendipitous. She finished grad school, had her first baby, and promised herself she would never settle for a job she didn’t love again. While freelancing at the Idea Foundry, a start-up business incubator and Thread’s first investor, she was assigned to help Thread turn a brilliant idea into a sustainable for-profit business plan. She met the team, believed in the model, and never looked back.
Jenna is the tenacious person at Thread that ensures our supply chains are cruising and our fabric is beautiful. Again and again and again. Responsibly moving millions of pounds of material from our recyclers machinery to our customers shelves – with 100% transparency – takes grace and resolve. Her favorite part? Working with partners to design cool new products to fuel needed jobs, improve the impact of textiles, and inspire better consumerism.

What are you known for professionally? What do you have a knack for?
I manage action. I thrive on smart, well-organized goals and building the networks and systems it takes to achieve them.
What are you most passionate about professionally? What most excites you about your work & the contribution you can make?
Improving inefficient, immoral and damaging situations in the world using my professional skills and personal passion. In a world as beautiful and gifted as ours, waste and disrespect are senseless. I believe in Thread because we’re committed to finding waste – unused talent or material resources, unrealized opportunity – in unexpected places and turning it into actionable, sustainable solutions to real problems. Everyday I get to work with talented people internationally to build supply chains that turn waste into valuable products and jobs — abroad and in the U.S. The impact is real and it inspires me.
What are you passionate about personally? What do you really enjoy? What can’t you stop talking about?
I’m passionate about realizing who you are and what your inherent strengths are – then applying this to achieve true potential and joy. Also, the people I love and the natural world, everything from blades of grass to mountains and space. Nothing is better then going on adventures to explore that world with the people I love, especially my husband and kids.
How do you want to be remembered?
As someone who genuinely valued my life and the people around me, explored the world, and used my talent and heart to love others and achieve my potential for good.
